The Sonet® Acoustic Privacy System offers the cutting-edge privacy technology of the VoiceArrest Sound Masking System in a low cost, off-the-shelf sound masking solution for a single cubicle or office. Even better, it doesn't require any specialized knowledge or training to install.
The Sonet® System is suitable for use in spaces ranging from approximately 50 to 500 sq. ft., and was designed specifically to address individual needs for speech privacy, or to reduce noise intrusion and distractions.
Sonet Applications The simplicity and effectiveness of the Sonet® Personal Sound Masking System lends itself to numerous possible applications, such as: * office cubicles * enclosed offices or rooms * hallways * medical waiting rooms * hotel rooms * home More Comfortable Sound The Sonet® System uses new-patented digital QT™ Quiet Technology, featuring dual-channel (stereo) masking. Unlike the more raspy sound of most individual sound masking systems, the Sonet® System targets specific frequencies related to speech in order to effectively render speech unintelligible, while also helping to cover the hundreds of other miscellaneous noises present in an open environment floor plan. How Effective Is It? The Sonet® System is a highly effective individual masking solution. The use of Multi-Channel Technology increases its ability to cover over unwanted voices and other noises. While you will probably still be able to hear the person in the cubicle next to you (at a reduced level), voices from further away will be unintelligible or unheard, depending on your acoustic environment. What Does It Sound Like? The Sonet® System produces a sound like the gentle whoosh of a high-quality HVAC system. Since the sound is absolutely constant but has no structure, the brain simply tunes it out - just like you have tuned out the noise from the fans in your computer. You hear the fans, but how often do you actually notice them? Using the Sonet® System After installing your Sonet® System, it is recommended that you initially set the volume at a comfortable level, even if it doesn't provide the desired level of privacy. Your ears will quickly become accustomed to the new sound, and you can gradually increase the volume as needed to get you the privacy you need. The objective in individual cubicles is to surround the occupant with masking sound (often called "white noise") by placing the emitters at head height, with an approximate 18"-36" separation. For best results, keep the emitters within the user's line-of-sight, unobstructed by shelves or other items. The objective for closed offices or rooms is to fill the room with sound-masking protection so that intruding voices and noises from surrounding areas will be virtually eliminated. This can be accomplished by placing the speakers around the room just below the ceiling, just above the floor, or on posts or other convenient structures. Each volume control unit can support up to six emitters. A basic Sonet® System can treat a room of up to 120 sq. ft. For rooms larger than 120 sq. ft., add at least one speaker for each additional 75 sq. ft. Each Sonet System Comes With: - 1 - Controller with volume dial.
